I’m a UAC Member!! Here’s What That Means!
One of the main reasons I got into the aesthetic industry was to make an impactful change in people’s lives. As someone who has struggled with severe acne, dermatitis, and sensitive skin, I know what it’s like to feel uncomfortable in your own skin.
Our skin is our first line of defense against free radicals, germs, bacteria, and it’s how the world sees us. It’s crucial for me to spread awareness of skin conditions and effectively address them. I try to do my part in spreading awareness through my weekly blogs and social media platforms, and thankfully, I have one more secret up my sleeve… Drumroll Pleaseeeeee… I am part of a group of dedicated professionals that believe in making a significant change for the better in the aesthetics industry – the UAC!!
First things first, what is the UAC? The Unity Advisory Committee (UAC) is a community where licensed skin care professionals exchange ideas on how to serve the general public more inclusively. Our goal is to cover all new and existing topics in the aesthetics industry so that every voice feels heard.
“The Unity Advisory Committee (UAC) is made up of industry professionals who serve as a sounding board for the company to help improve.
communication, marketing, promotions, technology, and new product offerings.
Our members have a forum to give direct input to GlyMed Plus on ideas that will shape the future of Aesthetics.”
GlyMed Plus
As you may have gathered from that quote, the UAC was created by GlyMed Plus, a regenerative, cruelty-free, organic, top-tier, pharmaceutical-grade skin care company that I am proud to be part of (insert heart eyes here). So, when I found out I was chosen to be part of the UAC I was over the moon, y’all!!
To me, being a part of a committee such as this is another opportunity to serve YOU! For example: thinking of innovative ways to improve customer and client interactions and verbiage, to mold an intimidating scenario into a good experience for all involved. I am so honored to be a part of such a great committee because it means I get to learn how to serve my aesthetics community in the best way, and, on the same note, I get to present what I think we still lack in the industry and help make tangible steps to getting those needs met.
This week’s topic of choice was a biiit different. It wasn’t about a step-by-step routine, or how to upgrade your skin care according to the season, but I do hope you learned something from it. Every step I take in my career is with you in mind! As a Capricorn, I am an overthinker and rarely don’t think things through. So being a part of a group such as the UAC is a calculated way that I get to represent YOU & contribute to making the future of the aesthetics industry a more inclusive place for all of our needs.
