Does A Daily Skincare Routine Truly Matter?

Let’s cut to the chase – YES! Yes, it does.

Think of your skincare needs as your body. Sure that going to the gym and getting a personal trainer will get you results, and they’re a huge step to getting you to the body of your dreams! However, as anyone who’s committed to a healthy lifestyle will tell you, what you do at home matters even more. From the food you eat to the sleep you get, it all adds up in your journey to a healthier you! It’s the same when it comes to reaching your skincare goals. Regardless of your skincare concerns, a consistent at-home routine will get you closer to achieving your goals.

I want you to view your skincare products as “food for your face.” Just like our foods, some products are made from better ingredients, some are easier absorbed into our bodies, some should be used daily, while others are better spread out and had in small quantities, and some should be avoided altogether. There are many different recipes for the same dish, meaning, not all formulations are the same. So one brand’s Vitamin C serum may be completely different than another’s, but they are both Vitamin C serums. That’s why it’s so important to buy quality products, over hyped-up products that you may see on social media.

A licensed aesthetician can guide you and help build a great at-home skincare regimen, but if you don’t stick to it or try to find shortcuts, that will ultimately delay your skin goals. Your aesthetician is like your personal trainer; we can only do so much for you in-office, so the homework we give you is crucial!! If you only see us once a month or even less and aren’t making the changes at home, the chances of you having that dream skin are slim to none.

To reach your skin’s potential you’ll need to be disciplined. See an aesthetician (personal trainer), invest in quality products (change your eating patterns), stick to your skincare routine (workouts), get rest, reduce your stress, and switch up your routine from time to time – your aesthetician will guide you through that. And know that it’s a process, it will take time, but you WILL get there!

I hope this analogy helped you understand the importance of a skincare routine more practically and realistically!! Let me know what you guys thought below
